M3 is the organisations youth band and welcomes youth players from across South East Wales. They rehearse on a Sunday from 17:30 - 19:00 during term time. The band has won countless gold awards in competitions and is proud to have such a talented and dedicated membership.
Bob blwyddyn mae’n rhaid i’r band ffarwelio ag aelodau wrth iddyn nhw symud ymlaen gyda’u bywydau a gadael Caerdydd.
Many have progressed onto music college or into musical careers with past players now teaching music or members of military bands. Other choose to continue their playing as a hobby in others bands in the organisation, the region or university.
Fodd bynnag, mae’r band hefyd yn gallu croesawu aelodau newydd bob blwyddyn wrth iddyn nhw symud i fyny o M4 i barhau i fagu hyder a sgiliau.
Conductor Profile: Carol Flanary Davies
Carol hails from “up north” and grew up playing with the salvation army and local brass bands in Yorkshire. She moved to Cardiff to study music at Cardiff University and decided she liked South Wales so much she stayed. After training as a teacher Carol is now a successful primary school head teacher in the Rhondda Valleys.
Roedd Carol yn chwarae’r cornet soprano am flynyddoedd ond mae hi bellach yn ôl yn chwarae’r cornet Bb. Mae hi wedi chwarae gyda nifer o fandiau yn Ne Cymru dros y blynyddoedd, gan gynnwys Canol y Rhondda, Treherbert ac M1, ond mae ar hyn o bryd hi yw unawdydd cornet Tylorstown.
Carol is an amazing youth band conductor bringing endless energy and experience to the job.She conducted Mid Rhondda youth band for a number of years before moving to M3. She brings the best out in every player and gets the band working to their strengths to produce great performances year after year.
Mae hi bob amser wrth law i gamu i’r adwy i arwain bandiau eraill pan fo angen a hyd yn oed wedi ceisio annog aelodau’r band cymunedol i ddawnsio ar un adeg – roedd y canlyniad yn ddiddorol!
