On Saturday 15th October, M1 performed at the Championship Section Finals at the Royal Albert Hall. Thirteen members of the band made their first appearance at this prestigious competition. Debutantes included our musical director Christopher Bond, who made his conducting debut at the historic venue, and 15-year-old Callum Hathaway who has progressed through the organisation’s youth bands to join M1.
The band held their own against a strong field of competitors including the very best bands in the UK to come 16th overall.
M1 would like to thank all their supporters for their help in getting us to the Albert Hall, 75 years on from the band’s first appearance!
In particular, thanks go to Focus MEP for their generous donation towards the cost of the trip, to everyone that donated to our fundraising efforts, and to the 10th Fulham Scouts Group for the use of their facilities.
